Delicious Festive Spiced Negroni and A Classic Negroni
This is a classic gin cocktail, it’s a bitter cocktail so do bear that in mind but it really is a delicious concoction! We have two iterations of this cocktail so we thought we’d give you both and you can choose. The first is just a simple Negroni, then there is the option to make it a Christmas Negroni. The festive version is essentially the same recipe but the gin is first infused with spices to get that Christmas-y flavour 🎄
Infusing the Gin
For the Gin infusion (for the festive, spiced version):
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 star anise
- 2 cardamom pods, crushed
- 1 tsp black peppercorns
- 200ml Douglas-Fir gin
Toast the cinnamon, cloves, star anise, cardamom and peppercorns in a pan for 5 mins. Remove from the heat and leave too cool. Tip all the spices into a jar and pour over the gin. Seal and chill for 48 hrs.
Ingredients
For the Cocktail itself:
- Ice
- 25ml Douglas-Fir Gin / Infused Douglas-Fir Gin
- 25ml vermouth
- 25ml Campari
- Orange slices and fresh bay leaves to garnish

Instructions
Fill your glass with Ice.
Put the gin, vermouth and Campari into a glass.
Garnish with orange slices and bay.
Enjoy!
